Fushigi Yuugi (aka Mysterious/Curious play) is one of the anime series that is well known for having a lot of mature/adult scenes. Hence, a lot of clips were cut in the show, with scenes from the pairs: Miaka/Tamahome, Soi/Nakago, and Tamahome/Nakago — yes, there are shounen-ai scenes between those two (the other one was when Nakago licked Tama), but it’s not exactly as what you think. Yoko Kanno is a very well-known composer, though never in her life she became a seiyuu… not until this time.
The official Japanese website for Studio 4°C’s Genius Party Beyond anthology of film shorts has confirmed that composer Yoko Kanno (Cowboy Bebop, Escaflowne, Macross Plus and Frontier) made a voice-acting cameo in Koji Morimoto’s “Dimension Bomb” short. Although Kanno’s music can be heard in dozens of anime projects, this is the first known anime voice-acting role that Kanno has taken.

The first live action adaptation of the shōjo manga series by Yoko Kamio premiered in year 1995, starring Uchida Yuki in the main role.

On 22 April 2002, on the special issue of Asian Hero in TIME Magazine, Doraemon was selected as one of the 22 Asian Heroes. Being the only cartoon character selected, Doraemon was described as “The Cuddliest Hero in Asia”.
