Aries opened the show (again) saying sentimental comments about Lorymer. Like they get along well (they do?), and that they speak the same language.

In the models, it was Chen (Eli’s last model) who was eliminated, because Ivan chose to stay with Hailey.

In the workroom, before Jojie announced their next challenge, he introduced them to Mega Magazine’s editor in chief - Ms. Carla Sibal. Followed by their ‘client’ - model, host, and writer - Sarah Meier.

Challenge: Design an outfit for Sarah Meier that has both Hip-Hop and couture sensibilities.

Sarah told them to fuse the two things she likes which are Music and High Fashion Couture. Specifically, Hip-Hop, but not the “bling-bling”, instead the one that takes inspiration from Jazz and Blues. The designers were then told to do their sketches in 15 minutes, and after that they will sit down with Sarah to explain their designs. Sarah will then pick the best six that they will see on the runway, and the winner will have his/her design featured in Mega Magazine.

The 6 leaders:

• Mara -Sarah once tried to design a dress and it looked exactly like Mara’s design.
• Veejay -Sarah tried one of his dresses and felt beautiful in it.
• Lord -He said the ‘right’ words. (so he has convincing power)
• Aries -She wants to see pants and a skirt together.
• Ava -Likes the boy/girl design.
• Charette -The design was out of her realm, but still want to see it happen.

The pairs:

• Ava and Philipp

-She chose Philipp because he won the last challenge.

• Veejay and Bo

-He wants someone as beautiful as him.

• Mara and Jaz

-Jaz works are clean.

• Lord and Eli

-Because they are roommates.

• Charette and Ivan

-He chose Ivan ’cause he’s a fast worker.

• Aries and Winnie

-He chose Winnie because he had no choice.

The designers then went shopping to Metro Gaisano. Charrette was amazed on how fast Ivan pick the fabrics, calling him ‘Superman’. While Jaz saw a black fabric that costs low, she had to kicked it to hide it from the other designers. Aries on the other hand said to a salesman: “Kahit hindi pure white. Basta pure.” I think what he should’ve said was: “Kahit hindi pure white. Basta white.”

Back to the workroom, some of the designers were fed up of Bo’s continuous comments about other people’s design/technique. Just for example was Jaz’s usage of fire, she defended it saying: Basta sabi ni Rajo malinis ang gawa ko. While Philipp, Lord, and Jaz all said that Veejay and Bo’s dress looks great but there’s no Hip-Hop style in it. Even Jojie agreed, telling Veejay that it’s more inspired by a Love song.

The pair Lord and Eli, or as I like to call them: “Loreli”, was having such a good time that they haven’t done so much in their dress. Veejay commented that he was disappointed at Eli because the construction is not really well-made and unflattering. Adding, he should’ve helped Lord more instead of talking too much. Speaking of Veejay, others were also disappointed at him for stealing Mara’s idea of using hood. Though, it didn’t take long before Veejay and Mara confront each other. Veejay didn’t add the hood anymore saying he wants to win fair and square, not having any personal rivals.

Runway’s first!

For the first time ever, Teresa mentioned Heidi Klum’s favorite quote: “In fashion, one day you’re in, the next day you’re out.”

The guests judges were Carla Sibal and Sarah Meier.

My ratings:

High: Ava and Philipp -I like the idea of stripping the bottom part easily to make the design look casual.

Average: Charette and Ivan -Their gown is a fantasy. Like what Sarah said, it’s out of her realm ‘coz it’s just different.

Low: Lord and Eli -I didn’t like the color combination, plus how they both constructed it.

The judges top two were Ava and Mara, while the bottom two were Aries and Lord’s designs. Aries’ dress looked bridal-ish because of its being all-white. Winnie was asked how is Aries as a leader, she replied saying he works ‘very professional’, when in fact she said in the workroom that he makes her work like his ‘maid’. Aries was then asked who should go between the two of them. He chose Winnie ’cause she reminds him of one of his students, and like his students, she still has a lot more to learn.

Ava took inspiration from Kanye West and P. Diddy. What’s interesting in her dress is that she feminized a masculine fabric. The idea of making shorts came from Philipp. They have ‘wow’ factor from the complete look up to the casual look.

Lord on the other hand claimed that he’s not the best sewer in the world, ‘coz he’s a designer and he has a staff that works for him. Apples then asked Eli who should be out. His answer was, also the safest for him - a smile (with an actual smile coming from him, Apples smiled too). Saying that they had a lot of fun working together, from shopping.. Apples then said: “But that’s not an answer.” All Eli can say from his tiny voice was “Ohh…K.” Wrong judge Eli…wrong judge. Lord was then asked, and he said: “Just how the ship sinks, the captain has to sink with the ship. It’s my vision, it’s my design, I take responsibility for it.”

Mara’s gown was also highly praised, with Teresa saying: “It’s fresh, it’s new, I’ve never seen a hood in an evening gown.”

In the process of deliberation, Rajo confirmed to Carla that she’ll never put Lord’s dress in the pages of Mega Magazine. She replied saying: “Yes, you are right.” Apples issue with Aries was he opted to have Winnie out, when as a leader he should take full responsibility. Rajo replied saying: “Nobody’s a teacher/student.”

Winner: Ava
Out: Lord

In the end, the last two who remained was ‘Loreli’. I didn’t like that they let Aries left first before Eli, because it became very obvious who’s going to be eliminated.

In the preview of the next episode, Eli has a heated battle with one of the designers, and no - it’s not Aries.

Lord: I star my Eli, but don’t take this the wrong way. I’m not attracted to Eli. Hello? I’m cuter than him.

Aries (making fun of having to choose the last designer available -Winnie): I have a choice? Do I have to pick? I forgot her name. Cut! What’s your name?

Charette (talking about Ivan): Mabilis siya mag-act on things. Para siyang si Superman.

Ivan (to the salesperson): Dali! Dali! Cut!

Jaz: Oh my god! I love this. Magkano ang per yard nito?
Saleslady: Ito po, eighty pesos na lang.
Jaz: Eighty pesos? Eighty pesos?!

Jaz (to Mara): In fairness, magiging fabulous ang skirt natin dear.

Aries: Kuya, kuya, kuya! Ate, ate, ate! Kahit hindi pure white. Basta pure.

Lord: Thank you Metro!
Eli: Where are we?
Lord: Saan ba tayo?

Aries: Don’t forget to fuse dito, ha…
Winnie: Ay oo nga pala… yung fusing nakalimutan ko. Kailangan pa ba? Matigas na naman eh.
Aries: Kailangan darling!

Winnie (after Aries left): Parang ginawa niya akong atsay.
