Introduction

Welcome to my incomplete guide to a Full Attack Yu Ling character.

Notes:

  • I, the owner of this site isn’t an expert gamer.
  • This fansite will only be about a Battle Type Yu Ling.
  • My character, specter, is the one I’m going to use from beginning to end to enter information on this blog.
  • You shouldn’t just rely on this site, ’cause I’m pretty sure there’ll be quests, or other PW stuff that I’m not going to notice.
  • I’m not a good story-teller.
  • Lastly, I suck in english, so kindly excuse my wrong grammars.

To read my guides, go to ‘Blog Categories’ and pick the right level for your character.

Here’s the test subject:

specter

Name: specter | Race: Wingkin | Job: Yu Ling | Server: Dragon

So why did I choose a very risky character? Well, I like rare stuff.

Sorry for the short introduction. Thank you and good day.

    ^Thanks.

Levels 41-50 guide has just been published.

edit: I switched to HP stones, but I’m still a pure INT type.

  9. wolf - March 19th, 2008 at 1:58 am

For my level 80 set, I decided to go back to def stones. I’ll just add points in my con.

If you’re a hybrid battle type yu ling (dex/int or str/int) It’s more advisable to use hp stones. In my case I’m a pure int attack type so I need to have physical def.

Heaven and Hell skills will be available soon.

hmm what level will i be able to decide wether i’m evil or heavenly?

  12. wolf - May 24th, 2008 at 3:05 pm

    Hello all~

    No, I’m not dead.

I’m still not updating the quest guide because there’s still one quest inside the Dusk Palace that I haven’t finished yet. Also, the Frost City patch might be added next week, so I have to check if there’re level 61-70 quests in it.

    @FinalMapler

For a nuker Yu ling (Elf Priest), you can have three different builds

    1) INT-STR-CON (Heavy Armor)

    Stone to use: Amber (HP)

This build will give you a very high Physical Def.

    2) INT-STR-EVA-CON (Light Armor)

    Stone to use: Amber (HP)

The most common build for a nuker. Hell/Diabolic skills has an added critical rate, and adding Eva will give you much higher crit damage.

    3) INT-CON (Mystic Armor)

Stone to use: Crimson (Phy. Def.)

    This is specter’s build.

If you’re a pure INT build, you don’t have to worry much about your Magical Defense. What you need to focus is your Physical Def. Don’t mind your HP, just put stat points in your CON. Remember, Con also adds additional Pdef and Mdef, it’s a better choice than using Amber stones.

    @chino

You can choose the Heaven or Hell path when you reach level 89.

You can get Immortal stones by going to the Jeweler and combining Immortal Stone Fragments, or you can just buy from other players who are selling it for a low price.

Two days ago, my character just became a holy (heaven) yu ling (elf priest). I was actually planning to turn specter to diabolic type, but I messed up. Instead of choosing the esteem quest from the Devil Instructor, I chose the one from Celestial. I thought I’ll do the two quests so I just followed what came up first according to the ‘Find Quest’.

    Silly me I know (-_-;

At first my mind was totally blanked out. I even planned to create another yu ling, then I said to myself: ‘oh, NOT another year!’ So I took a deep breath, and analyzed everything. Then I realized, Heaven is indeed the perfect type for specter. In my opinion, Holy is for pure int-offensive type (like my character), while Diabolic is for int/dex-offensive type.

In conclusion, it doesn’t matter which of the two you choose (Heaven/Hell), both can make your yu ling a nuker type. It’s not just about the upgraded/new skills but also your stat distribution and item set.

I’ve now added the true/dark skill effects. Also, take note of the four new skills: Wind Spirits, Sealed Closed, Ray prism, and Haneda’s Guardian.

I’ll edit the skill guide if there’s something wrong.

  23. wolf - September 6th, 2008 at 3:00 pm

Oh, the Soulless Gate quest. Okay, I’ll just add it in the ‘notes’. Thank you.

Update: I now have the two new skills for level 79 which are Ray Prism, and Haneda’s Guardian.

I’ll post the information in the skill guide on how to craft the new skills.

  24. jayfuntera - September 8th, 2008 at 10:10 am

new skill for yuling for level 79 is worth the price buying or is not that usefull

  25. wolf - September 8th, 2008 at 3:06 pm

The main goal of the 2 new skills for level 79 is to lessen the damage received. If you can cast it before you’re stunned or slept then it’ll be very useful. In short, it can be a replacement for barrier of feathers, or you can use it after you’ve used BoF.

The downside is its cooldown, haneda’s guardian has 3 mins, while ray prism has 5 mins. So in a duel, it’s more likely that you’ll only use the two once, but if you can survive through continuous healing then there’ll be no problem.

About the price, I’ve bought each skill for 22-25 million, so if that kind of amount isn’t a big deal for you then it’s worth it.

Btw, Haneda’s Guardian can be transferred to anyone. Also, if you would like to try just one of the two, I’ll recommend Ray Prism, ‘coz it has a fix percentage (like barrier of feathers) on how much damage it can receive which is 60. Haneda’s Guardian depends on your hp, so if you have a low hp then it wouldn’t be that useful. But if you have the two, then you can use both at the same time for more effective result.

  26. wolf - September 18th, 2008 at 3:02 pm

There are rumors that there’ll be a new patch next month. If that’s true, I hope a lot of bugs would be fixed, especially the ones in Frost City. So that I can publish the quest guide for levels 71-80.

  27. wolf - September 25th, 2008 at 5:40 pm

I’m confused w/ Haneda’s Guardian… in the description of the skill, it says “..depends on target’s max HP”, but when you use it and mouse-hover on the small icon that appears under your name/status, it says “decrease damage received at the cost of target’s max MP”, something like that.

    HP or MP ~.~
